During the post-Soviet space-time, during perestroika and the consecutive years (1980s-1990s-2000s), thought in small towns remained unstable due to the political and social changes shaking in Russia and post-soviet society. Internal wars seemed endless, provoking in citizens the hope of taking refuge in their small cabins, fleeing the fear of the Soviet past and sheltering from the unknown future. The time of children wandering freely in the "dvor" is coming to an end. The youth, caught between naivety and the obligation of military service, are gradually disappearing into the silence of the media and a mindset woven by blinding patriotism. To this day, mothers, consumed by nostalgia and sadness, wonder for whom these wars are truly fought, and if the price is really worth the lives of their children, their sons. "MmOTHERS" is a video performance designed for a dancing choir. It consists of 5 singers (the mothers) and 3 dancers (the children), and will be filmed inside and around the castle. Action: The “mothers” constantly call out to their “children” from the windows of the castle. They move from one room to another, shouting from a different window each time. The children are outside the building. During the performance, the mothers transform into their children. The performance ends when all the "children" have disappeared. Mothers: Primarily high-pitched voices (transgender individuals are welcome). There are 3 to 7 performers, and the score is divided into three parts. Mouving space: "inside". Children: The dancers (supported by the transformed afterwards mothers) have no score and are primarily "outside", moving in and out, until they eventually disappear. The "transformation" of the mothers into children, or vice versa, is a metaphor for the passage of time and the shift between generations. The initial choreographic idea is a movement resembling cabbage white butterflies in flight (linked to a sunny, happy childhood—an intimate memory of the creator). Score: A mixed notation, open to interpretation, with specific moments. The "speech" consists of the names of people killed in post-Soviet wars (Chechnya, Ukraine). Slavic, Bulgarian Folklor, contemporary Opera mixed. Electronic Music: Repetitive, rhythmic, ambient, aligning with the initial flow of the performance.
